The event featured the Pre-College Orchestra, conducted by both David Robertson, Juilliard’s director of conducting studies, distinguished visiting faculty, and Pre-College faculty member, and alumnus Nico Olarte-Hayes. The repertoire included Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with Pre-College alumna Joyce Yang. MAP, Pre-College, and College Division alumna Nathalie Joachim performed an excerpt from her Fanm d’Ayiti with a Pre-College ensemble. And Pre-College alum and Grammy-winning, Oscar-nominated composer Nicholas Britell, a Creative Associate, played his overture from the hit HBO show Succession. President Damian Woetzel, Preparatory Division Dean Weston Sprott, Pre-College Artistic Director Yoheved Kaplinsky, and more gave speeches throughout the evening.
