Drummer Ted Carrasco explores the subtle differences between the Vater hard felt beater (VFB) and the Vintage Bomber (VBVB).
Ted Carrasco has been the drummer for The Baker Brothers (@thebakerbros) since 2011. He has also spent time playing concerts with Gilad Atzmon’s Orient House Ensemble (@giladatzmon) and The Paul Jordanous Ensemble (@pauljordanousmusic) among others. Carrasco Moved to the U.K. from California in 2005 after finishing a music degree at CSU Chico. Since then he has appeared in headline concerts all over Europe, The U.S.A. and Japan.
Ted is playing a Champagne Sparkle Ludwig Down Beat kit made in April 1965 (12”/14”/20”). The snare drum is a Ludwig Supraphonic 400 of the same year. He uses Vater drumsticks and beaters along with Evans (toms&snare) and Aquarian (bass) drum heads.
He records at his Studio (@vistapoint.studio) and the microphone setup includes: AKG 414XL II (Overheads), AKG D12 VR (Kick), Shure SM7b (Snare), AT4033 (Floor Tom), Shure SM57 (TomTom). He uses Logic with Waves and Brainworx channel strips, EQ’s and reverbs.
