I wrote this fun math story for my kindergarten and first grade classes to help work on general problem solving, and also to teach and review addition, subtraction, double numbers, and ways to make ten. Hope you enjoy!
Note: There are many ways to approach the math challenges in the story. I've chosen a variety of methods (counting up, or down, using tens facts, doubles facts, manipulatives, etc.), but can only show one method for each problem.
Let your students share their ideas and strategies, to help each other find out what works best for them. There are many paths to math success! Also if you have any questions or comments, please let me know-Although I use these in my classes, I haven't put them on youtube before.
