You may have experienced a freezing app. This can be frustrating for you if you are working something on an important task. The solution to this problem in Windows is a force quit. In this video, we will learn how to exit out of a frozen computer program. Follow the steps as shown in this video.
1. Right-click on the taskbar at the bottom.
2. From the menu list, click on the Task Manager option to open it.
3. In the Processes tab, find out the app or program name that is not responding.
4. Although, there is no program freezing at the time of this video creation. But, for demo purposes, I am selecting this Google Chrome app.
5. Click on the End Task button at the bottom right in the Task Manager window.
6. By performing this action, you can exit out of a frozen application that is not responding.
7. Close the Task Manager window.
8. Let’s see the second method to close a freezing app.
9. Type cmd in the Windows search bar at the bottom left, and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
10. Type tasklist in the Command Prompt window, and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
11. Note down the name of your freezing app. Like here, for demo purposes, I am going to close the Chrome app.
12. To do so, write the command “taskkill/im chrome.exe”, and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
13. This will close your app which is not responding.
14. Close the Command Prompt window.
