The Yuuzhan Vong, popularized in the New Jedi Order series, were planned to appear in a Clone Wars arc, however, it never went into production. The story would have involved a Vong scout ship arriving from another galaxy and performing abductions in order to assess the strength of the Republic and learn details about the Jedi. However, unlike in the New Jedi Order series, the Vong would have been visible in the Force. George Lucas requested this change because it went against the idea that the Force surrounds all living things.
