Workdays, I eat the OMAD (One Meal A Day) diet, b/c it saves 1.5-2 hours of time; for sleep etc. The liver in a healthy person can easily maintain blood glucose for 24 hours. After 48 hours people start going into ketosis. I don't want that. The Gerald Shulman MD paper on mechanisms of insulin resistance (in physiological reviews) has a nice diagram showing the duration of liver glycogen breakdown, and gluco-neo-genesis (making glucose from amino acids, and glycerol). (glycerol is the carbon scaffold for triglyerides = fat). The Romans would work all day, and then eat a big dinner at night, and this became standard. I knew also from experience that I would often get interested in studying something on Saturday mornings, and not want to eat, b/c once you eat, IQ drops, and want to take a nap; because the body shifts into PANS (Parasympathetic Autonomic Nervous System) mode = feed and breed, rest and digest. Best diet for humans is 100% plant foods, starch based, 100% organic, low fat, low sodium, no sweets, no caffeine, no oil.
