DescriptionThe Carr Fire in northern California began July 23, 2018 when a car malfunctioned on a highway. It ultimately became the sixth most destructive wildfire in California's history, threatening many of WAPA's transmission lines and customers. WAPA, in coordination with Trinity Public Utilities District, Redding Electric Utility, City of Shasta Lake and Bureau of Reclamation, responded to restore power to communities in need that were threatened by the fire.
