A lesson on the Doc Watson classic "Streamlined Cannonball"! This crosspicking ripper is played out of capo 3 and uses a lot of the same intervals as Tony Rice's "Church Street Blues". It's also a great showcase tune that you can play solo or with other pickers. "Streamlined Cannonball" is a reference to the large, art-deco locomotives of the 1930's tat signified progress in a pre-depression America. In this lesson, we'll take a look at the melody and the chords and rhythm for this classic tune.
