10. JVA Fuhlsbuettel Prison, Germany
C) While this German prison has always been criticized for giving too much freedom to the inmates, the JVA Fuhlsbuettel still offers plenty of amenities to the prisoners. Along with expensive cells, the prison has offered washing machines and telephone corners for prisoners who want to talk to their families over a long distance.
9. Champ-Dollon Prison, Switzerland
D) This prison was the most overcrowded in 2008, and it has been renovated to contain triple-occupancy cells with attached bathrooms. A lot of outdoor facilities and recreation time and also living with fellow prisoners allow the inmates to feel like dorm mates who could help each other through the short-term and long-term rehabilitation process.

E) This Prison is actually a unique one on the list. It has found a creative solution to keep families together. The prison allows infants to live beside their parents for the very first few years of their lives so that prisoners can experience and enjoy parenthood despite being imprisoned. Aranjuez has cribs, Disney-themed décor, and a kids’ play area that makes children stay comfortable.
7. Otago Corrections Facility, New Zealand
F) According to New Zealand Corrections, the Otago Corrections facility was actually one of the four opened between 2005 and 2007. This facility has a highly secure perimeter with sufficient open space and a separate building for accommodation. Here, the prisoners are provided with super comfortable rooms and skilled classes like cooking, light engineering, and dairy farming.
6. Cebu Prison, Philippines
G) While the Cebu Prison is not the most luxurious one on the list, it has mastered the art of providing the best creative and recreational exercises to the prisoners. Each prisoner dances and sings with different musical numbers, and their numbers are televised as they perform for civil audiences. Some of them are even asked to sign autographs.

H) This prison teaches each inmate productive skill-building 40 hours a week. It houses 700 inmates and ensures that everyone there develops different skills during their time in the facility. It gives a special focus on helping the prisoner transition into civilian life to have a goal and a purpose after leaving prison.
4. Justice Center Leoben, Austria
I) This prison is, in fact, a residence made for non-violent offenders and is as good as a five-star hotel. It gives a private cell to each prisoner with a private bathroom, a kitchenette, and a TV. The recreational area has a gym, a basketball court, and more open space to take a walk and interact with other inmates.
