That's right! I am playing as a blue seal in this. And Player 2 is an orange seal, whom you may have remembered in Remix 5. They're in separate rows, which means even more seals! If you liked the seals in the 1-player version of "Flipper-Flop," you'll love this one, because there are seven of them in all now. (Have you noticed the title screens have all displayed two of something instead of one for Duo Mode? In this case, Captain Tuck draws two hearts on the window instead of just one.)
Let's do a quick rundown of what you're supposed to do here. Normally, you press A to each beat of the song. Sometimes, you'll hear what I believe is a clave struck three times. The following beat, you press A three times in that fashion. This will normally, but not always, mean a direct vocal cue from Captain Tuck is coming. He'll tell you to do a certain number of flipper rolls, from 1 to 10. On the amount of following beats, you press A and B together to do a flipper roll like he asks. You'll notice that over the course of the stage, the numbers will slowly increase, though with a few short ones to get the seals back upright.
I will say this: "Flipper-Flop" is a difficult stage if you're just getting used to the game, in any version. The timing for this stage is quite strict (you'll know you're off if your seal displays as sad face), and it requires 230 inputs from you, meaning chances are you'll make a lot of mistakes. Both players need to do all of the inputs too, so there's no time to rest. And, at least with me, if either player messes up, Captain Tuck's glum counting of 1-2-3-4 makes me mess up further as it throws me off. So as a result, my score here is pretty low, though not as low as "Micro-Row," a stage I am admittedly pretty bad at. I do like how the green dots laugh though. I don't know why.
After this will be Duo 6, "Launch Party." Watch the Rhythm Rockets do double duty in starry space.
