In this session, Raphaella So presents on using different chemical and mechanical conditions to create distinct conformational strains of recombinant alpha-synuclein aggregates that, when injected into mice, can cause distinct disease progression rates, neurological symptoms, and protein deposition patterns. Our second speaker, Beverly K. Wilson discusses her MSA journey from first symptom to the eventual MSA diagnosis. Beverly’s presentation describes the difficulties in diagnosing this disease and highlights the urgent need for disease specific biomarkers.
