This is a basic exercise for the scapular waist, with an emphasis on the anterior and middle delts. At the time of the exercise there is pressure on the waist, therefore it is recommended to use a lifting belt. Choose the weight that allows you to perform all the reps with the correct technique. This exercise takes the load off the legs. However, there is a high risk of injury of the scapular joints. Do not lower the dumbbells below the back of your head. Also, do not use maximal weight. An intense warm-up of the scapular waist is recommended before proceeding to this exercise.
Exercising with expander: the exercise can be performed using an elastic band instead of weights. To do this, take the band by one end and stand on its loose end. You can also use two bands for each hand separately. Ideally, the band should be stretched at the starting point to increase difficulty over the entire range of motion. Since the movement doesn't follow the natural trajectory here, the bands may prevent you from following it. Therefore, don't forget to carefully pay attention to technique during this exercise.
