Earlier this year, Houston-born singer-songwriter Sunny Sweeney stopped by the Museum for a special “Songwriter Session.” Accompanied by Harley Husbands, she performed several of her songs and shared the stories behind them. In this clip, Sweeney describes an impromptu phone call from Country Music Hall of Fame member Loretta Lynn and the songwriting advice Lynn gave her.

The program was presented in support of "American Currents: State of the Music," the Museum’s annual exhibit which features Sweeney, Charley Crockett, Cody Johnson, and Parker McCollum in the Texas Country portion of the exhibit.
