This video is a step by step tutorial on how to accurately track macros for homemade recipes in MyFitnessPal (MFP)
Tips for Improving Tracking Accuracy
1. Use a food scale as much as possible over measuring cups. Weighing ingredients out using a scale will yield most accurate results! The difference between measuring cups vs scale weights can add up to hundreds of unreported calories over the course of a day.
2. When scanning ingredients, ensure that the nutrition label information matches the information found in the MFP entry you're using. Remember that MFP is subject to human error as most entries are inputted by regular people. There will generally be several entries for the same food so pick the one that matches the food label, or create your own if you dont see one
3. If available, select entries that have a green checkmark next to it as those are verified by MFP (common for fruits/veggies/other produce)
