How to Create EFI Partition in Linux Mint
𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: No EFI system partition was found? For creating the EFI System Partition, set the Size to 512 MB, and select EFI System Partition from the Use as a dropdown menu. Then, click on OK. The boot flag should be set by right-clicking it.
⚠️You don't need an EFI partition so you can ignore the warning about EFI partition. If you do not receive a warning about you need a bios boot partition (needed in case it was a GPT disk not MBR/dos) click on Continue button and Install.
✅That warning is a new Mint's installer bug or feature. In the previous edition, bug(s) were different, but not this one. Now booting and installing on BIOS mode Mint's Installer is able to install on both BIOS and UEFI and it will try. Trying to install on UEFI mode it waits for an EFI partition to place grub-efi loader. You don't need it if installed on BIOS mode only.
★★★ 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘: Remove all additional drives from the computer excluding the drive you are booting from and the drive you want to Erase/Partition. Creating partitions will permanently erase/destroy all data on the selected drive. Please make certain that you are erasing the correct disk.
