The Voice is a Dutch format. The program premiered on RTL 4 under the name The Voice of Holland. The program has been sold to several countries, in the United States it premiered on April 26, 2011 on NBC. On 17 May of the same year, TV4 announced that they had bought the Swedish rights to the TV programme. In June 2011, TV4 began receiving applications on its website and the programme starts in early 2012. The program is divided into three parts and in the last part you should choose which of the contestants has the best voice. In the first part, the player is allowed to make a recording that four vocal coaches can listen to. Each coach chooses their favorites that make up a team. After that, the teams compete against each other. The last part consists of live finals where one goes out every week. In the final there are four participants left (the four coaches have only one participant to the final.
