If, by nature, Alentejo was the forerunner of sustainable tourism, it is also a site of questioning and reflection, from which the model's future is rethought and developed, reshaping the interaction between locals and visitors.
Created in 2018, ASTO - Alentejo Sustainable Tourism Observatory was the first Portuguese Observatory to join the INSTO-UNWTO - International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories, led by the WTO - World Tourism Organization.
