Little known but common practice for already a long time: Used EPS packaging (expanded polystyrene) can be completely recycled: Specialised companies process separately collected clean EPS packaging via two different processing technologies. Via extrusion EPS obtains a new life, e.g., as insulation material. Thus, the resource cycle for EPS packaging is closed and resources are being preserved. Essential for best EPS recycling is separate collection. The German district of Heilbronn proves to be a role model and shows how it works.
