Haystack Rock, a 235 feet above shoreline sea stack, is located in Cannon Beach, Oregon an hour and a half outside of Portland. This marvelous landmark is accessible by foot during low tides and is home to an array of sea creatures and birds. Haystack Rock is designated a Wildlife Refuge as it is a nesting ground for wildlife, please DO NOT attempt to climb. This popular tourist destination is most often highly populated, however, the beach is large enough to spread around. Haystack Rock was also featured in the cult classic film The Goonies, and in Steve Spielberg’s 1941. Dogs 🐕 are allowed off-leash on the beach as long as they are in sight of their human and listen to commands.
