Mustard fish curry. This is an Indian fish curry recipe and specially famous in West Bengal. This is also called Bengali Mustard Fish Curry (Shorse Maach). This goes well with plain rice. Mustard fish curry can be eaten in lunch or dinner.

Ingredients:
Rohu fish 8 pieces
Salt as per taste
Turmeric powder 2 tsp.
Red chili powder 1 tbsp.
Black mustard 2 tbsp.
Yellow mustard 1 tbsp.
Calonji (black jeera) 1 tsp.
Mustard oil 5-6 tbsp.
2 medium chopped onions
2 medium sliced tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped coriander
5-6 Green chili
Process
Wash fish properly and dry it. Marinate with turmeric and salt. Take yellow mustard, black mustard and green chili, add water and make a thin paste. Take the paste into a bowl, and add turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Mix and set aside. Heat one karai and add mustard oil. When the oil becomes hot, reduce the heat to medium and place the fish one by one in the oil. Fry both of the sides properly, until golden brown. Once all the fish are fried, remove. Add the calonji in the same pan. When it splatters, add onions. Fry it properly. Now add the mustard paste which we already made. Add silted green chilis. Mix well with the onions. Add 2 cups of water. At this moment, check the salt, if needed, add more. Cover with lid and cook until it starts to boil. When it starts to boil, add the fried fish. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes. Next, add coriander, tomatoes, and mustard oil. Mix lightly and wait for a boil. Once it starts to boil, cover, and rest for 10 minutes. Our simple and tasty mustard fish curry is ready to serve. Have this fish curry with plain rice.
