Boeing has been awarded a 70 billion yen (474.5 million USD) contract to enhance Japan's air defense capabilities through the F-15 Japan Super Interceptor Program .
Contract documents include detailed information about manufacturers and suppliers and their products, along with contact details, to inform purchasing decisions.
This Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract includes the integration of the Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) for the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force.
The JSDF operates a diverse fleet of fourth generation fighter aircraft, including the Mitsubishi F-2 and F-15 Eagle .
The primary goal of the EPAWSS upgrade is to increase the combat effectiveness and survivability of the F-15E and F-15EX fighter jets.
With this advanced system, the fighter jet will receive advanced capabilities to detect and counter ground and air threats while increasing situational awareness on the battlefield.
Boeing began integration of EPAWSS on the US Air Force's first two F-15E aircraft in July 2022.
The development, production and integration of the EPAWSS system on USAF aircraft was a collaborative effort by Boeing and BAE Systems.
BAE Systems is also providing additional EPAWSS for the US Air Force's F-15E and F-15EX aircraft in September 2022.
In addition, Indonesia and Boeing recently signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the potential sale of 24 F-15EX aircraft to Indonesia.
Recently Boeing also offered the F-15EX to Poland at the MPSO 2023 Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce, Poland.
