Speed-build and showdown of the Harley Benton CST-24T DIY Kit from Thomann ( [ Ссылка ] ).

Notes:
1. Ideas in the song are inspired by the Rock Lead... series by Danny Gill and Nick Nolan ( [ Ссылка ] ), I highly recommend those books! Mainly, it is just A Minor Pentatonic in the "verse" and E Minor Pentatonic in the "chorus", nothing fancy!
2. Using a Yuer TR-U1 wireless system, the signal is sent to the Harley-Benton Dr. D pedal (great for $20 and works well with this budget guitar). Recording to a computer is done via the Zoom U-22 audio interface.
3. Just a moderate postFX of the sound was done, consisting of slight EQ, compression and a little bit of reverb. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of these pickups!
4. Both rhythm and lead parts are overdubbed once, so a total of 4 tracks are playing at once. I was playing the rhythm part on the bridge pickup and the lead in the middle position, with parts played at higher frets using the neck humbucker.
5. The guitar has the strings it came with. I expected them to be very bad, usable just for the test build, and planned to replace them immediately, but I have decided to use them normally until I play them out. I've definitely had worse strings in the past, even from well-known brands.
6. The setup (intonation, string height, bridge adjustment, neck straightening, nut adjustment, etc.) took way more time than the actual build. Patience is required, but it is worth it.
7. The biggest let-down of the guitar is the bridge with Fender-styled tremolo system. It is basically unusable, the guitar would not stay in tune. Therefore, I have decided to lock it down using a wooden block (read about methods of locking-down the Stratocaster styled tremolo). It made a huge difference in tuning stability. I may experiment with it more in the future, but my recommendation is to stick with fixed bridges on cheaper guitars and probably buy the CST-24 kit (non-tremolo version) instead.
8. The drum track is generated using the "Heavy" preset in GarageBand on macOS.
