Evidence on Innovations in Savings and Payments Conference - Kampala, Uganda.
Presentation by Dean Karlan, Professor of Economics at Yale University and President of Innovations for Poverty Action, on the evaluations of two child and youth savings programs in Uganda. This was part of the first session on Child and Youth Savings.
The conference included presentations by leading development economists, as well as panel discussions with key practitioners and policymakers. The conference was held on June 24-25, 2013 at the Speke Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala, and was organized by Innovations for Poverty Action under the Yale Savings and Payments Research Fund, with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and in collaboration with the Economic Policy Research Center at Makerere University.
