FEDERAL WAY, Washington, USA -- It’s a cold Friday the 13th in December 1991.
16-year-old Sarah Yarborough’s parents, Laura and Tom, and her little brother Andrew are preparing to travel to Ocean Shores, Washington for a soccer game that Andrew is participating in.
They will be staying there overnight.
Laura didn’t want to go because it would mean that Sarah would be home alone.
But Sarah teases her mom, saying she will be fine because she had a friend staying overnight and she would be busy the next morning at a drill competition.
Sarah gives one final hug and kiss to her mom, and they were off.
The next day, as Tom watches Andrew compete, a police officer approaches him.
“Call home.”
