Bad design by IKEA on their LACK series shelf.
DO NOT BUY!!!

I purchased these floating shelves from IKEA in 2017 for my living room. Article number 101.590.99. They are 43 inches long. I had purchased the same Lack series self in 2005 since we had good luck with them since they had the two rod bracket system.

Ikea changed the design of the bracket to an L-shape bracket which doesn’t support the shelf well enough to hold practically anything! From day one it will sag even if you added screws to your support bracket. The issue is that the L-bracket lip is not long enough give the shelf enough support. They need to go back to the two rod system and offer customers who purchased these a full refund! It is a safety issue!
