God Save The Queen arr. David Willcocks (Recorded Live from BBC Radio 3)
This was played at 8pm on 22 July 2009 at the BBC Proms, The Royal Albert Hall, London.
The prom was celebrating the 800th Anniversary of Cambridge University and HRH Prince Charles was there as he went to Cambridge University in 1967 to read archaeology and anthropology at Trinity College. He changed to history for the second part of his degree, and in 1970 was awarded a 2:2 degree.
I personally attended this concert, mainly to hear Camille Saint-Saëns' Symphony No. 3 (Orgue), but this was a very pleasant surprise at the start of the evening! I was standing about 10 ft behind the conductor, Sir Andrew Davis, and the sound was phenomenal. You have to admire the mighty organ behind turned up for the final chord.
Hope you enjoy.

God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen:
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the Queen.
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On her be pleased to pour;
Long may she reign:
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice
God save the Queen.
