You can age pigs by their teeth. Boars will grow sharp tusks in their second year of life but studying the teeth is the only sure way to accurately age a pig. This is a quick and dirty method to tell the age of both male and female pigs using the second and third molars, and then making an educated guess based on tooth wear. Wild pigs live short lives and will generally die of natural causes in their 6th to 8th year, and rarely older.
For a more accurate method, look up a "tooth eruption schedule". These charts show which teeth emerge at which month of age and can be accurate to the month up until the pig is 36 months old. After that, you need to base it by the tooth wear and accuracy can be to within 6 months.
