OMAC demonstrated on-machine measurement at the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII) as part of their Showcase Event in Chicago Illinois. The demonstration showed how the digital thread enables more accurate, timely and automated on-machine measurements.
A product model with embedded tolerances was machined and measured in multiple phases of cutting. At the end of each phase, coordinates on the part were communicated in real time to inspection software for evaluation. Standardized digital tolerance reports were generated for record keeping and further analysis. A new digital twin application allows remote visualization in smart phones and browsers.
