Draw Knife Restoration
Watch a rusty draw knife get a good restoration and a keen edge applied to the blade. This tool has no identifying marks or logos. But it is very symmetrical and probably was manufactured (not hand made by a blacksmith). The handles appear original but a repair was made on one of the keeps. This tool was a gift, one item out of nine old tools given to me by a dear friend. Yes, I’m very thankful.
Historically, draw knifes are ancient having been used since Biblical times. Jesus, being a carpenter, most likely used a draw knife. The Vikings used them in ship building as early as c. A.D.100. Now that I have a very fine draw knife, I am going to need a shave horse.
