We’ve arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage after windows were smashed at a mosque, a church and a banqueting suite in Sparkhill this morning (4 November).

 

The motive behind the attacks is yet to be established, but we’re currently questioning the man in his 40s, who remains in custody and is undergoing a mental health assessment.

 

We understand the worry and anger this may cause and are speaking to witnesses, carrying out reassurance patrols and are speaking to local mosque leaders and offering security advice.
