Documents in the Lincoln's Inn Archives shed light on William Hogarth's vision his painting ‘Paul before Felix’, which hangs in the Old Hall at Lincoln's Inn.
The Inn commissioned the artwork in 1748 from William Hogarth's after £200 was left by Lord Wyndham to Lincoln's Inn in 1745 for ‘adorning the Chapel or Hall’.
