The Zone of Interest is unlike any Holocaust film ever made. The goal of the movie is to make the audience identify with the perpetrators, not the victims. As a result, we never step inside the walls of Auschwitz. Instead, we observe the family living happily next door. In this video, I explore the lessons we can take away from the German family and explain why there is still hope to be taken from a seemingly hopeless story.
