GUAM is a U.S. island territory in Micronesia, in the Western Pacific. Guam has a pleasant tropical climate; generally warm and humid, moderated by northeast tradewinds and distinguished by beautiful tropical beaches, ancient latte-stone pillars and Chamorro villages. Guam's capital is Hagatna. Native Guamanians are the Chamorros. Guam's economy depends primarily on tourism (mostly from Japan, Korea and the United States), U.S. military installations and locally owned businesses. Guam is culturally diverse with Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipinio, other Asian communities and the U.S. mainland. The unofficial but frequently used motto is "Where America's Day Begins".
