An onsen is a Japanese hot spring. We stayed in a ryokan (a traditional Japanese inn that often has bathing facilities within it) and had Japanese breakfast and dinner included and served in our room. The town is close to Tokyo, it is quiet and relaxing, I find the people there are very friendly. The whole experience was wonderful.
About onsen, first thing you need to know and what surprises a lot of tourists is simply: You need to be naked! Naked. even in the outdoor hot springs. I grow up going to public bath houses and saunas (naked of course) and it's part of my culture too, so I didn't feel embarrassed at all, but I understand this could be shocking to a lot of tourists.
Thanks for watching. I just start to make a few vlogs of our trips this month, it's super weird to hear my own voice and it's actually a lot harder than I thought it would be to talk in front of a camera. But nothing like re-live the moment of our trips, for me it is a highly enjoyable experience to record, edit and watch.
If you enjoyed watching this video please give me a thumb up.
We went to Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe this trip in Japan then China. More videos coming up.
