In this video we take a look at a set of 5 battles in Season 6 of the Pokemon GO Battle League (GBL) in the Open Master League.
In today's video we are showcasing a set of battles submitted to me by a subscriber to the Channel, 'SomeKindOfChief' who is running a team consisting of a perfect 100% IV Shadow Mewtwo in the lead. Joining this powerful Pokemon in the back is Dialga, wearing a best-buddy ribbon but not utilized, and Lugia!
While both Mewtwo and Dialga are best-buddied by this trainer, he did forget to equip them as Best Buddy, so there is no level 41 bonus for either Pokemon throughout this entire set. As a result, the Dialga mirror becomes a hard loss but we manage to get some nice battles regardless with a lot of wins!
Shadow Mewtwo on its own is a rare sight in the Master League, a perfect IV one is even rarer, so I am grateful to have the opportunity to share these battles with all of you. While the shadow variant does do more damage, it is debatable as to whether or not it is an improvement from non-shadow Mewtwo. Mewtwo before the shadow boost already has a very high ATK stat and is glassy in itself, losing 20% more defense in exchange for ATK does make some matches a lot more difficult to win as a result of less bulk.
Lugia is another Pokemon which got a buff this season with Aeroblast. This legacy move makes Lugia very strong for the Master League meta and a force to be reckoned with.
Dialga is self-explanatory. It is THE Master League Meta.
In this video we use a team consisting of: Shadow Mewtwo (Psycho Cut, Shadow Ball*, Psystrike*), Dialga (Dragon Breath, Iron Head, Thunder) & Lugia (Dragon Tail, Sky Attack, Aeroblast*).
* denotes Legacy move (may require Elite TM).
