Hello all, and welcome to part 7 of my Final Fantasy X Overpowered guide!
***THIS WALKTHROUGH CONTAINS SPOILERS THROUGHOUT***
I've recently seen a lot of people playing the Final Fantasy X Remastered release on Xbox One, and there are many people who play it without knowing the best techniques for efficiently grinding the end-game and getting the Dark Aeons and Penance.
Not only that, but it's a very fun game to be overpowered in, which is something I love doing in games.
After completing the Thunder Plains and Macalania, defeating the Spherimorph boss gave us a Level 2 Key Sphere which allows Kimahri to break into Yuna's grid and make his way towards Holy!
The Macalania Travel Inn after the Macalania woods is the point of no return for backtracking to the Thunder Plains so don't trigger the cutscene by walking passed the inn. As you can see in the video I go back to the Thunder Plains to pray to the 3 Quactuar stones to release the Quactuars as enemies.
They're difficult to hit and also take no damage. You can Provoke them to stop them running, but they'll use 1000 needles on their turns and deal a flat 1000 damage to Tidus if you do. The best way to kill them is to use Slayer Overdrive mode with Tidus, Kimahri, Auron and Wakka and then overdrive the Quactuars when you fight them.
They're worth the effort because not only can you steal Chocobo Feathers from them, but they also drop Initiative weapons and MP Stroll armours, whilst giving a ton of AP and Gil.
Initiative is useful, but MP Stroll is incredible in FFX. It allows Kimahri to use Holy in virtually every fight, and it lets Tidus cast Slowga at the start of a battle but then instantly get the MP back before the next battle starts. I would DEFINITELY recommend getting an MP Stroll armours for both Tidus and Kimahri, but it's very useful for all the other characters (except maybe Rikku) as well.
The party will be truly Overpowered after getting this setup sorted! You can also try dodging 50 lightning strikes using the crater trick and fleeing from the battles inbetween with Tidus. This will help later on because you get 3 Strength Spheres, but it is annoyingly difficult to do so it may be too much for your patience to withstand!
We then proceed to Macalania temple; you MUST get the Destruction Sphere treasure because this temple will be blocked off by Dark Shiva upon your return, and you'll want the treasure well before then because you need it to get Anima so DON'T MISS the treasure.
For this playthrough, I will be doing some videos of things to watch out for along the way. This focuses on 3 early-game grinds to get way ahead on some skills and have a blast wrecking everything in your path! It also involves a fair bit of Blitzball in Luca, but that bit is sort of optional. This playthrough will be a Standard Grid playthrough because it lets you use Break HP Limit more effectively if that's the route you choose to go down. The Expert Grid has its own advantages, but isn't good for BHPL enthusiasts.
The key points for me are:
Get Haste before leaving Besaid
Grind Sinspawns on the S.S.Liki
Win the Luca Blitzball game to get a Strength sphere
Win a Blitzball League and tournament for a Teleport Sphere and Return Spheres.
Teach Yuna the -ara spells
Get Kimahri Holy by Macalania
Get MP Stroll armours for certain characters.
I hope you enjoy this new series! Please like, comment and subscribe for more videos!
