One POLITICO article calls it “the most dangerous place on earth,” while others have called it NATO’s weakest point.

It’s not hard to see why the Suwalki gap has these names. It’s sandwiched between unfriendly, non-allied territory: The Russian exclave of Kaliningrad to the west, and Belarus to the east.
