April 27, 2022, marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ulysses S. Grant, Lt. General of the United States Army and 18th President of the United States.
Grant was born in Point Pleasant, Ohio (Clermont County) and his boyhood was spent in Georgetown, Ohio (Brown County) where he lived for 16 years, longer than any other place in his life.
There are a lot of events to commemorate this special anniversary of Grant’s birth.

A special Presidential Dinner celebrating the bicentennial of Ulysses S. Grant’s birthday on April 27, 1822. Dinner, prepared by an all-star team of chefs from Clermont County, will be inspired by a presidential menu from the 1860s. You will also have the opportunity to experience menu items that would have been found on the plates of Union soldiers during the Civil War. Period music to be played by Union Army Band and speech/reenactment of Ulysses S. Grant by local actors.
