Got these 862 4.8 5.3 LS heads shaved .040" and it took about 4cc out of the chamber, which will bump compression ratio by a half point. So 10:1 for a stock bottom end truck LR4 4.8 LM7 5.3 engine, which should help keep a bigger cam happy.
Measured with a simple syringe and water, sealing the chamber with wheel bearing grease. This works for combustion chambers, intake runners, exhaust ports and even even dished pistons. I did the same thing before with my Beretta 3.4 swap.
