Another of Big Beef Production's video series featuring The Killjoys (later The Raging Mantras) performing live at Canal Street Tavern in Dayton, Ohio, July 1990. This program was part of a series of music-themed programs which were included in the "The Eat More Carp Show" cable television series, which aired in a number of cities throughout the late 80's and early 90's.
This program is notable for it's featuring a real rarity by the band, a number which is a time period piece, "The Cold War Thaws," along with some of their more popular audience favorites, "I Pledge" and "E♭for Existential" which were later made available on their Big Beef Records cassette release "Fish Head Test Monkey Music."
The band is also notable for the ongoing careers of those who were in it, including drummer Jim Macpherson who has since gone on to tour the world with The Breeders, Guided By Voices, and has been a long time member of fellow Dayton rockers Real Lulu, the Lab Partners and The Nicky Kay Orchestra. Guitarist Nick Kizirnis has gone on to his own notable performing and recording career with Cage, The Mulchmen, Eyesinweasel, Nicky Kay and The Kay-Tones, The Nicky Kay Orchestra, and numerous solo works. Keyboardist Ed Lacy was also a member of Cage and The Nicky Kay Orchestra, and served as producer/co-host of UnCommon Sense TV Media.
