In this segment Jason shows the part of the Crescent V-Rod which we will subsequently fill with key patterns. First you will need graph paper to map out the basic 1-2-3-4-5-5-4-3-2-1 'S pattern' which is repeated in many Celtic key patterns. In the next few videos Jason Bellchamber will show you how to draw a rectangular key pattern in a square and then again in an irregular shaped space as above. Tools required, pencil, straight edge, eraser, ink pigment liner, graph paper. WARNING! Key Patterns take a lot of concentration and are thus more difficult to start making than knot patterns can be to begin.
