Unlock the full potential of LED lighting with Haven's Q series full color LED strips (see product link in comments)! If you've been curious about these smart light strips, you're in the right place. Let's dive into the details to turn you into a smart light strip expert.
Designed for simplicity, our Q series LED light strips come with a 15-ft. lead for the four-wire system. While installation may seem confusing at first, fear not – we've got you covered.
To make wiring a breeze, remember this simple rule: Match common to black, red to red, and green to green. However, with the yellow wire, you'll pair it with the blue wire.
Unlike our lighting products, getting blue smart light strip wiring is challenging. Many times, a different wire connects to the controller, such as our outdoor mini WiFi LED controller (check the comments for the product link). Usually, you’ll use speaker wire for LED light strips, often black, red, green, or white (we recommend connecting white to yellow).
Bottom line: It doesn’t matter what wiring color you use for yellow, as long as metal matches with metal and copper matches with copper. We recommend using blue wiring rather than yellow because blue denotes which output powers the blue LED strip. It’s just how we wire our LED light strips, yellow coincides with blue. If you have a question about the wire color, check the instruction card in the product box or contact a Haven representative.
We also recommend using junction boxes (see product link in comments) to install our Q series full color LED strips. If you want to install the lights on surfaces like capstones, protect their functionality by avoiding burying the wire in the ground. Also, cutting the outer jacket may lead to corrosion issues in the inner jacket. Save yourself the headache and opt for a junction box.
So, why do we use four-wire connectors for our LED light strips? Our commitment to bringing you vibrant colors is the answer. We achieve stunning hues on our landscape lights by utilizing the three primary colors – red, green, and blue. But that's not all; we've upgraded our system to 24 volts instead of the typical 12-volt systems. This ensures your smart light strip shines brighter and lasts longer, setting our lights apart as the brightest in the market. From skyscrapers to hospitals, Haven lights create dynamic lighting with low voltage.
