What is NAFTA? NAFTA is a trade agreement signed in 1994 by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It aimed to promote trade by eliminating tariffs, reducing barriers, and improving market access between the three countries.
In 2020, NAFTA was replaced by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which updated and modernized certain aspects of the agreement while maintaining the overall goal of fostering free trade and cooperation among the three nations.
