IMD Guwahati has issued forcast for thunderstorm with hail accompanied with gusty wind and spell of light to moderate rain at isolated places over Baksa, Chirang, Darrang, Kamrup Metro, Morigaon, Nagaon in the next 3 hours. After a day of sweltering heat, several parts of Assam were today hit by heavy rains and storm. Several parts of Guwahati also recieved sudden shower in the evening. Meanwhile, fairly widespread to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 30-40 km per hour are very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 7 days. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Sikkim over the next few days, Arunachal on the 19th of May and Assam and Meghalaya from today till 20th May.
