Team Dransfield - Rome to Dubrovnik Charity Bike Ride Challenge 2012
The 2020 Tour of Europe Challenge is part of an ongoing project to raise money for charity. The aim is to cover a route through Europe by bike with a leg every year and hopefully finishing up back in London in 2020 where the team set out from in 2007.
Last year the team finished their muscle aching journey in the Italian capital Rome raising more than £45,000 for the NSPCC, The Childrens Hospital in Sheffield and Leukaemia Research.
This year the team will set off from Rome on Monday 24th September, peddling across the Apennine Mountain range to Bari then across the Adriatic to Dubrovnik, covering around 340 miles over three days.
Meet this year's team of finely honed athletes ! From Sheffield this year we have Mark Dransfield, John White, Simon Athey, Gian Bohan, Nick Rees and Richard Timms. From Hull: Paul Dransfield, Alec Cammish, Michael Crooks. From Lincolnshire: Will Downing, Tim Downing, and Dean Draper and Andrew Malley representing the Merseyside contingent!
