When the tooth is removed there will be a blood clot which is formed in the extraction site and when you do the smoking the blood clot will be displaced an will lead to infection and the cigarette smoking contains a lot of chemical like the hydrogen peroxide, carbon monoxide and ammonia. This leads to delayed healing and inflammation, infection and dry socket. Dry socket is a condition which causes disintegration of the blood clot from the extraction site of the tooth. The cigarette smoke will expel the blood clot for the extraction site and can leaf to delayed healing and indirectly it will result in severe pain and bad breath and it is very important you should not do the smoking after the removal of the tooth for a better healing so avoid smoking atleast for 5 to 7 days.
