In this video I come clean about why I’ve Been Living A Lie. This is about why I’m finished with metal music. The attitude of metalheads in modern times has become radioactive. Gatekeeping culture has given us a bad name in the larger musical community, making it difficult to share our passion with others. Challenging people who wear metal band shirts to name 3 songs is essentially accusing someone of being FAKE. It is annoying when people have no clue about the brands they're repping... but challenging them to an authenticity test just makes things worse. Spreading heavy music starts with a relationship. Seek first to understand the other person and you'll be rewarded with an opportunity to share the music that inspires you. Metal lords like Dimebag Darrell of Pantera modeled what a metalhead should be like. Charismatic, personable and fun to be around. Dime had SWAG and STYLE. I'm sure Metallica would be a great hang as well. Let's be honest, Papa Het isn't gonna be accusing you of not knowing his entire catalogue if he sees you wearing a Metallica shirt. He's just happy you like to rock. Ozzy Osbourne is another perfect ambassador for metal music. Dramatic, entertaining....he's all about connecting people and removing barriers that restrict self expression
