About 170 people shaved their heads at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland hoping to raise $200,000 for pediatric cancer research. Shavees included members of Oakland PD., Alameda PD., Concord PD, Walnut Creek PD, Oakland and SF Fire Depts., Children's Hospital's doctors and residents and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals President Michael Anderson. Also many families -young and old whose live have been touched by cancer. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and Oakland Police Chief Ann Kirkpatrick kicked off the morning. Some were shaved by family members or in one case, a patient shaved a doctor. Also, one police officer shaved another police officer. With Saturday's event, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland has raised close to $1.8 million for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
