A mass of mostly young people celebrating Halloween became trapped late on Saturday as the crowd moved forward into a narrow alley. At least 153 people died and 82 others were injured in the crush – the country’s worst disaster in years.
'I express my condolences to the victims of the unexpected incident and hope the people who were injured will get better soon. My heart goes out to family members of the victims, who are suffering from the heartbreak of losing loved ones,’ said the South Korean president, Yoon Suk-yeol.
