Hallasan Mountain stands high on the center of Jeju-do is 1950m high, which is the highest in South Korea, and the sacred mountain of Korean at the same time.

Baekrokdam crater lake on the top of the mountain and Yeongsil curious rock, etc. are welcoming tourists with their beautiful landscape in every four seasons.

Witseoreum is the grasslands in the Hallasan plateau back of the Baekrokdam, and famous for its early summer hairy korean rhododendron and royal azaleas.

Hallasan Mountain was designated as a Natural Reserve in 1966, a National Park in 1970. And it was designated as UNESCO biosphere conservation zone in 2002 and was registered as UNESCO world natural heritage in 2007.
